What is Four Colors

The four colours card game — a game like Uno, free online

Four Colors is a shedding card game: everyone starts with seven cards and races to empty their hand. Match the top of the pile by colour or number, throw Skips, Reverses and Draw Twos at the table, and switch colours with a Wild. The first player out scores what everyone else is still holding; the first to 250 points wins the match.

1, 2 or 3 opponents
Play heads-up against one bot or fill the table with three. Ada, Milo and Zara each play a sensible, readable game — and sometimes forget to call their last card.
Plays in your browser
No download, no install, no plugins. fourcolors.app deals the moment you tap Deal, on desktop and mobile, and the next round starts with no page reload.
Real last-card call
Tap 1 as you drop to one card or draw two. When a bot forgets, the button turns into Catch! — the part of the game every table argues about, done properly.
Readable by everyone
Every colour has its own shape mark, playable cards lift out of your hand, and the colour in play is always labelled — plus full keyboard play and saved stats.

How to play

How to play Four Colors

Four Colors is quick to learn: match, draw when you must, use your action cards at the right moment, and remember to tap 1 before your last card.

  1. 1

    Get seven cards

Everyone is dealt seven cards from a shuffled 108-card deck. One card is turned face up to start the discard pile; the rest form the face-down draw pile. Play passes from seat to seat, starting clockwise.

  2. 2

    Match colour or number

On your turn, play one card that matches the top of the discard pile by colour (red on red) or by number or symbol (a green 7 on a blue 7, a Skip on a Skip). A Wild can go on anything and lets you name the next colour.

  3. 3

    Draw when you are stuck

No match — or you would rather hold your cards? Draw one from the deck. If the card you drew can be played you may play it straight away; otherwise keep it and your turn ends.

  4. 4

    Tap 1 and go out

When you play your next-to-last card, tap the 1 button to announce your last card. Forget, and you draw two as a penalty. Empty your hand first to win the round and score the cards everyone else is still holding.

Tips to win more rounds

  • Shed your high-value cards and action cards early — if someone else goes out, every card in your hand is points for them.
  • Hold your Wilds. A Wild is the only card that always plays, so it is your get-out-of-jail card for the end of a round.
  • Watch the seat after you. When the next player is down to one or two cards, that is the moment for a Skip, Draw Two or Wild Draw Four.
  • Steer the colour toward the one you hold most of, using number matches to switch colours without spending a Wild.
  • Tap 1 before you play your next-to-last card, not after. Calling early removes any chance of a two-card penalty.
  • Keep an eye on bot hand sizes. A bot that drops to one card without the ONE! badge can be caught for two cards.

FAQ

Four Colors, answered

Straight answers about the free four colours card game — the game like Uno — that you play in your browser.

What is Four Colors?

Four Colors is a free online card game like Uno. You and up to three computer opponents each start with seven cards from a 108-card deck in red, yellow, green and blue. Take turns matching the top of the discard pile by colour or by number, use Skip, Reverse, Draw Two and Wild cards to disrupt the table, and be the first to empty your hand.

Is Four Colors the same as Uno?

It plays the same way. Four Colors uses the same style of 108-card, four-colour deck and the familiar rules — match colour or number, action cards, Wilds, calling your last card, and scoring to a target. It is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mattel, which owns the UNO trademark. Uno itself grew out of the much older game Crazy Eights.

Is Four Colors free to play online?

Yes. fourcolors.app is completely free and runs in your browser. There is nothing to download or install, no account, no premium tier, and no video ads between rounds.

How do you play Four Colors?

Each player gets seven cards. On your turn, play one card that matches the top of the discard pile by colour or by number or symbol, or play a Wild and name a colour. If you cannot or do not want to play, draw one card; you may play it if it fits. Tap 1 as you go down to your last card. The first player with no cards wins the round and scores the points left in everyone else’s hand.

What do the action cards do?

Skip makes the next player miss a turn. Reverse changes the direction of play (with two players it acts as a Skip). Draw Two makes the next player draw two and lose their turn. Wild lets you pick the next colour. Wild Draw Four picks the colour and makes the next player draw four and lose their turn.

What happens if I forget to tap 1?

If you drop to one card and do not tap 1 within about two seconds — before the next player moves — you draw two penalty cards. You can avoid the risk entirely by tapping 1 while you still hold two cards, before you play.

How does scoring work?

Only the player who goes out scores. They collect points for every card left in the other hands: number cards are worth their face value, Skip, Reverse and Draw Two are worth 20, and Wild and Wild Draw Four are worth 50. The first player to reach 250 points wins the match.

How do the computer opponents play?

The bots — Ada, Milo and Zara — dump high-value cards first, try to stay in the colour they hold most of, keep Wilds in reserve, and save Skip, Draw Two and Wild Draw Four for when the next player is close to going out. Like people, they occasionally forget to call their last card, and you can catch them for it.

How do I win more rounds?

Get rid of action cards and high numbers early so a loss costs you little. Hold at least one Wild for the end of the round. Use number matches to steer the colour toward the one you hold most of. When the player after you is down to one or two cards, hit them with a Skip or Draw card. And always tap 1 before you play your second-to-last card.

Can I play Four Colors on my phone?

Yes. The table, your hand, and the Draw and 1 buttons all fit on a portrait phone screen without scrolling. Playable cards lift up so they are easy to tap, and a new round starts instantly.

Does the game save my progress?

Your stats — rounds played and won, matches won, best round score, and current and longest win streak — are saved locally in your browser, along with your sound and opponent settings. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. A match in progress is not saved if you close the tab.
